Things looking up for Ratty
Today I had a chat with
Rob Strachan the UK's premier
water vole champion about a collaborative project to restore
27,000 hectares of land along the upper portions of the River Thames, as part of a
UK scoping project.
Lessons learnt on this project will hopefully enable the
large-scale changes in land use + management, associated with
reforms to agricultural subsidies, to have the maximum possible benefit for both
farming + wildlife.
P.S. I have been building weblogs for this and other projects for the last few days and will post a summary of my PhD (for those of you who voted for this) next week... I'll catch up with news updates once I have got these new sites up and running.
