Every year
UNICEF produces a report called the
State of the World's Children.
Each year a different theme is developed and number of
key statistics relating to the
health, education + life expectancy of children in many of the world's countries are summarised.
The
2003 report is subtitled "
Why Children Must Be Heard" and recommends that young people should be given a constructive role in securing their own development and in establishing a more cohesive, peaceful world.
The
2002 report is also very good and offers a neat
summary for those who want to dip a toe into this massive subject...
