Help the Aged has called on the UK government to do more to ensure that the
2 million pensioners living below the official poverty line get all of the benefits to which they are entitled...
At present
1 in 3 pensioners fail to claim the financial assistance they are due.
Perhaps the most shocking statistic in this report is that
20,000 pensioners die from the cold each winter and that these deaths are
preventable with the installation of adequate
heating + insulation.
