The UK's
House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee (EAC) says it doubts whether farmers will agree voluntarily to reduce the environmental impact of using pesticides and that
pesticide cuts must be compulsory.
The EAC also suggest that the government could provide
rebates to farmers who followed stricter environmental guidance, and could also be used to discriminate, via
taxes levied on the most damaging chemicals.
