This programme outlines - with the help of examples from South America + South Africa - what can happened if state-owned utilities, such as electricity + water, are privatised in haste or dogmatically. In particular, this show highlights the importance of taking into account the needs, and limited means, of the poorest of the poor in the setting of prices + the importance of developing safeguards which ensure people don't have to make a choice between buying clean water or energy and food.
